Compliance and trust

Compliance you can check, record by record

We own our UK B2B data and are registered with the ICO, and every record shows the evidence behind it, so you can answer the ICO's questions about where your data came from.

Six things you can check

  • Registered with the ICO. Emailmovers Limited, registration Z9714386. We have owned our UK B2B data since 2003; we are not a reseller.
  • Corporate subscribers only, by default. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are left out of email audiences unless you ask. Under PECR, people at companies, LLPs and public bodies can be emailed without consent; sole traders cannot.
  • A lawful basis on every record. Each record names its UK GDPR basis: legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f). Our legitimate interests assessment is planned for publication by 30 November 2026.
  • Every number labelled. Every telephone number is screened against the TPS and CTPS each night through a licensed screening service, and carries its status and the date of that screen, valid for 28 days. Screen the numbers you are supplied yourself before calling, and again every 28 days.
  • Objections kept. Anyone can object to direct marketing at any time. We act on it within one month and keep the person suppressed, so they stay out of every list we supply.
  • Stored in the UK. Data is stored in the UK and verified in the EU and US, and every sub-processor is listed on our trust page.

Is it legal to buy B2B email lists in the UK?

A lawful basis on every record

Each record names its UK GDPR basis: legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f). Our legitimate interests assessment is planned for publication by 30 November 2026.

Because we obtain data indirectly, Article 14 requires privacy information within one month, or at first communication if sooner.

An Article 14 notice programme is planned for January 2027.

What is in place, and what is planned

Every number labelled

Every telephone number is screened against the TPS and CTPS each night through a licensed screening service, and carries its status and the date of that screen, valid for 28 days. Screen the numbers you are supplied yourself before calling, and again every 28 days.

Live calls must not go to TPS or CTPS numbers without consent, and a screen lasts 28 days.

How emails and phone numbers are verified

Objections kept

Anyone can object to direct marketing at any time. We act on it within one month and keep the person suppressed, so they stay out of every list we supply.

A buyer reports an objection with one call and gets a suppression id and a time. An objection to a licensee suppresses the record for that organisation at once, and an objection to us suppresses it database-wide within one working day.

Database-wide suppressions reach every licensee through a signed webhook, a property on a CRM push and a pull endpoint. Suppressed records never appear in counts or orders, and we keep only a hash.

Stored in the UK

Data is stored in the UK and verified in the EU and US, and every sub-processor is listed on our trust page.

Google Cloud London for storage. Email verification runs in the EU with some US traffic, and phone checks in the US.

The sub-processor page lists each vendor with its purpose, location and transfer mechanism.
