Short answer

A B2B email list is a set of named business contacts you can email about their work. MyDataHub by Emailmovers holds 1,568,550 named business emails at 207,830 active UK companies (as of 31 October 2026).

You build a list by job title, industry, company size and place, and you see the count and the price. One credit buys one record, and a list is priced per record: 25p a record up to 9,999 records, 22p from 10,000, 19.5p from 25,000 and 17p from 50,000, with no minimum order. Prices are ex VAT. Companies, LLPs and public bodies can be emailed without consent under PECR. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are left out of email lists by default.

What is a B2B email list?

A B2B email list is a file of business contacts, each with a name, a job title, a company and a work email address. You use it to write to people about their job, such as a finance director who buys accounting software.

The useful lists hold named people, not role addresses such as info@ or sales@. A named address reaches a decision maker, and a role address reaches a shared inbox that nobody owns.

A MyDataHub list is delivered under a 12-month multi-use licence. You can send to it, load it into your CRM and download it again free until the licence ends.

How many UK business contacts can you reach?

The database holds 1,568,550 named business emails at 207,830 active UK companies, counted on 31 October 2026. About 1.25 million of them are at manager level or above (as of 31 October 2026).

3. With a named email Email type is a named person, not info@ 1,568,550 207,830
4. Manager level and above Job level is Manager or above (Owner, Partner, CxO, Chair, VP, Director, Senior manager, Manager) 1,249,005 192,210

Each filter is added to the one above it. Counts for dataset 2026-W44, as of 31 October 2026. Counts are shown as an anonymous visitor sees them: rounded to the nearest 5, and any cell under 10 reads "under 10".

The default count starts from active companies with a named email. A dissolved company or a role address never enters your list unless you switch that default off, and the toggle shows you how many it would add.

Other providers state their size in different ways, from 1.5 million contacts at Buy UK Data to 6 million contacts and 1.5 million emails at Data HQ (read 26 September 2026). The comparison lists 15, because a contact total means little without the email count behind it.

How do you build a list, step by step?

Take a common brief: directors and above at finance and insurance companies in Scotland. You can build it in four moves, and none needs an account.

  1. Set the people. Choose Director level and above, which is job levels 1 to 6.
  2. Set the companies. Choose the SIC 2007 section for finance and insurance.
  3. Set the place. Choose Scotland from the region list.
  4. Read the count and the price. The count, the companies behind it and the cost update on every change.

For this page that audience counted 2,400 contacts at 405 companies on 31 October 2026. It needs 965 credits, one for each emailable record. The cheapest way to buy them is 965 records at 25p, £241.25 ex VAT in all. Counting costs nothing.

If a filter removes too much, the count tells you which one. Widen the place, relax the job level or add a second industry, and watch the number settle before you decide.

Which job titles and levels can you target?

Every contact has one of 13 job levels, from Owner to Volunteer. Levels are cumulative, so "manager and above" means every level from Owner down to Manager, and you can combine a level with a title keyword.

The database holds 207,410 owners, 247,020 directors and 532,920 managers. Two bundles save you listing levels by hand. The sdm bundle is Owner to Director, ranks 1 to 6. The manager_and_above bundle is ranks 1 to 6, 8 and 9, and it leaves out Company secretary at rank 7.

How does title expansion find the right people?

People write the same job in many ways. Title expansion widens your keyword with five rules, and it shows you every term it added, with a count for each.

  • plural_singular: manager and managers.
  • department_synonyms: HR, Human Resources and People; IT and Information Technology.
  • ampersand_and: Sales & Marketing and Sales and Marketing.
  • abbreviations: CEO and Chief Executive Officer; MD and Managing Director.
  • permutations: Marketing Director and Director of Marketing, which you switch on.

The keyword "HR manager" expanded for this page into the terms below. You can remove any term, and the removal is written into the filter, so the count stays reproducible.

Expansion adds one term with 10 or more contacts. 14 further variants have under 10 contacts each and are left out. Per-term counts are contacts at active companies, whether or not they have a named email. The total for all terms is 7,475. Counts are rounded to the nearest 5.

The count for HR managers shows 7,325 named contacts for the role. This table counts every written title that contains the keyword or one of its variants, at active companies, so the two figures answer different questions and can differ. Both are as of 31 October 2026.

Which industries can you build lists for?

Industries follow the UK SIC 2007 classification. You can count a whole section, such as Manufacturing, or go down to division, group or class. A company with more than one SIC code appears in each of its sections, so the rows add up to more than the total.

Which places and company sizes can you cover?

Places come from the ONS Postcode Directory, so every contact sits in a region, county, town and postcode. The 12 regions and nations below cover the whole UK, with the Channel Islands and Isle of Man as a separate Crown Dependencies set.

London holds 33.2 percent of named contacts. You can also count the 33 London boroughs, Yorkshire as a named set, any postcode area, district or sector, and a radius of 1 to 100 miles around a place.

Place names can be ambiguous, and we never pick for you. Which Leeds did you mean: Leeds (metropolitan district, West Yorkshire) or Leeds (built-up area, West Yorkshire)? You answer, and the chosen centre is written into the filter.

Can you filter by company size?

Yes. Company size comes in 13 employee bands, from 1 to 5 up to 10,000 or more, and 17 turnover bands. Turnover bands come from Emailmovers research, because Companies House filings hold turnover for only about 4 percent of companies.

How much does B2B data cost in the UK?

UK brokers that publish a price charge about 8p to 40p a record, and global tools about $0.18 to $3 for a full record (read 26 September 2026). Brokers quote a price per record, and a list is the records you need times that price.

A list costs 25p a record, falling to 17p from 50,000, one credit a record. There is no minimum order: 300 records at 25p is £75. Counting and sampling are free, so you know the credits you need before you spend.

How much does a B2B email list cost?

One credit buys one complete record, so a list needs as many credits as it has emailable records. You buy exactly those credits at the per-contact scale, and a quote shows the price before you pay.

Current list prices, GBP ex VAT: the per-contact scale
Records in one purchase Per record Status
Under 3,000, no minimum order 25p Current
3,000 to 9,999 25p Current
10,000 to 24,999 22p Current
25,000 to 49,999 19.5p Current
50,000 and over 17p Current

The size of a purchase picks one band, and every record in it is at that band's rate.

Counted on 31 October 2026 (dataset 2026-W44). Emailable means a named email at a corporate subscriber that meets the default deliverability score of 70. Counts are shown as an anonymous visitor sees them: rounded to the nearest 5, and any cell under 10 reads "under 10". Prices are GBP ex VAT and are what you pay in all, at the per-contact scale.

Failed lookups, duplicates, suppressed records and records you already hold cost nothing. MyDataHub pricing has the credit rules and the plans for buying credits in the app.

How accurate and deliverable is the data?

Every email address is checked on a schedule, checked again at delivery for orders under 50,000, and scored from its whole history. We show the date beside every verification figure, because a figure without a date means little.

How emails and phone numbers are checked
Check Provider and location Cadence
Email, primaryMillionverifier (Hungary; EU processing, some verification traffic through US providers)An ok result is rechecked every 90 days, unknown every 30, catch-all every 90. Invalid is retired after two failures, any bounce triggers a recheck, and every address in an order under 50,000 is checked at delivery.
Email, failoverVerifalia (EEA only, Germany)Automatic on error or timeout
Email, UK-only tierEmail Hippo (UK, ISO 27001)Paid option, about £2 per 1,000 records
Phone line typeTelnyx (United States; the number only)At ingest and every 180 days
Mobile livenessData Soap HLR (UK hosted)At delivery for mobiles
TPS and CTPSA licensed screening service based in the UK, every number each nightEvery number shows its status and the date of its screen, valid 28 days under our own rule

Counts default to a deliverability score of 70 or more with catch-all addresses excluded, and both are visible toggles. We do not publish an accuracy percentage, because none exists until a measured audit backs it.

Today's warranty replaces affected records when hard bounces exceed 10 percent of an order. A stricter policy, replacing any hard bounce within 30 days, is proposed and is not current.

How fresh is the data?

Every Monday the pipeline builds an immutable dataset version, and a count is always tied to one. This page counted dataset 2026-W44, as of 31 October 2026. The last 52 versions stay available, so a count from the last 12 months can be rerun exactly.

Companies House changes reach the next build, and an opt-out or an erasure request does not wait for Monday. A same-day overlay removes the person from every count and every delivery.

Each version publishes a changelog with the records added, retired and re-verified, the companies dissolved and the suppressions applied. That is how you can tell a list has changed since you last counted it.

Yes, if the contacts are corporate subscribers and you meet UK GDPR. PECR regulation 22 requires consent only for individual subscribers, which means sole traders and ordinary partnerships.

In the default count, 715 named contacts are excluded from email as individual subscribers (as of 31 October 2026). Our lawful basis for named work emails is UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f), and direct marketing is an example of a legitimate interest since 5 February 2026.

You must give each person privacy information within one month of obtaining their data, or at your first message if sooner, and you must honour an objection.

What do you receive with a list?

Each record has a named email, a telephone number where held, a postal address and company fields including the Companies House number and SIC code. Every field set costs 1 credit a record.

Each record also carries the evidence an auditor would ask for. That is its lawful basis, subscriber class, Article 14 notice status, TPS and CTPS status and the source of each field. Every order adds a signed compliance receipt and a buyer kit with a draft legitimate interests assessment, the first-email wording, a stub for your Article 30 record and a due diligence file.

How do you use the list in your email tool?

You can download a CSV, send the list to Google Sheets, push it to HubSpot or Salesforce, or start outreach in Deliverite, the Emailmovers email delivery platform. Pushes are record operations only, and each pushed record is keyed on mydatahub_record_id so a later refresh updates it instead of duplicating it.

HubSpot's and Salesforce's anti-spam policies prohibit sending to purchased lists from their own tools. That is why the first message goes through Deliverite or an outreach tool, with the Article 14 wording injected as a per-record variable. Deliverite costs from £75 to £100 a month.

What should you check before you buy any list?

The ICO says accepting a broker's assurances is not enough, so ask for evidence. Five checks take a few minutes and work on any supplier.

  1. The price per record. A price you can read without a call lets you compare suppliers like for like.
  2. A count and a sample before you pay. If a supplier cannot show either, you are buying blind.
  3. Source and date. Ask who compiled each record, where it came from and when it was last verified.
  4. Subscriber class and phone screening status. Sole traders need consent for email, and we treat a TPS and CTPS screen as valid for 28 days, our own rule rather than the ICO's.
  5. A warranty in writing. Find out what happens when addresses bounce, and who decides.

Our trust page answers the ICO's checks, in our words, from the fields on a sample record.

How does it compare with buying from a broker?

Three of the six UK providers in this table sell by quote only: Databroker, Prospect360 and B2B Data UK publish no price. None of the 15 providers we compared combines live public counts, published prices, an API and an MCP server (read 26 September 2026).

Frequently asked questions

Is it legal to buy a B2B email list in the UK?

Yes, for corporate subscribers. PECR regulation 22 protects individual subscribers only, so you can email people at companies, LLPs, Scottish partnerships and public bodies without consent. Because a named work email is personal data, you also need a lawful basis under UK GDPR, normally legitimate interests, and you must tell people where you got their details.

How accurate is a B2B email list?

We publish dates, not an accuracy percentage. We will publish a hard-bounce rate only after a measured quarterly accuracy audit, and today's warranty replaces records when hard bounces exceed 10 percent of an order.

Which industries and roles can I buy?

Every SIC 2007 section and 13 job levels, plus title keywords with expansion. The industry table and the job level table show the live counts.

How much does B2B data cost in the UK?

UK brokers that publish a price charge about 8p to 40p a record, and global tools about $0.18 to $3 for a full record (read 26 September 2026). Here a list is priced per record: 25p a record up to 9,999 records, 22p from 10,000, 19.5p from 25,000 and 17p from 50,000, with no minimum order. Counting is free.

How many UK businesses are in the list?

1,568,550 named contacts at 207,830 active UK companies (as of 31 October 2026). For scale, the ONS counted 3,232,415 UK local units in 2026 (Nomis).

Do the people on the list need to consent to my email?

Not at a corporate subscriber. Under PECR you do not need their consent. UK GDPR still applies, so you need a legitimate interests assessment, a clear opt-out and the notice wording that says where you obtained their details. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are individual subscribers and need consent, so they are excluded from email audiences by default.
